PENANG ISLAND: AN EPIC SHORT GETAWAY

   Penang Island is the main constituent island of the Malaysian state of Penang which located at the Peninsular Malaysia. The island owned the major population in the city, George Town. Penang island has always become a main attraction to the tourist as it is also known as the food heaven.

   Besides being famous with their own culture, Penang island also attract people from all over Malaysia even travellers from overseas with the uniqueness of the architecture buildings. Otherwise, George Town also has been mark as the historical core by UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  For amateur photographers, playing city tour around the streets could be a very fascinating experience as they could also stand out their creativity even more with the wonderful views of the island. If you are planning for a family vacation, choosing Penang island as the destination would not be a disappointment as it offers a lot of things to do even just for a short trip on the weekends.

PENANG HILL

Penang Hill is one of the most popular attraction in Penang that we have visited. Penang Hill is also known as Bukit Bendera. If you visit Penang Hill, you can breathtaking view as it has very beautiful view of nature.

     

              

THINGS THAT YOU CAN DO AT PENANG HILL

When we visited Penang Hill, we do a lot of things such as visit Little Village, Love Lock and we also go to the food court just to eat shave ice. It is a little bit pricey but it is worth it to try because the taste is delicious.

How to get to Penang Hill?

You can take rapid bus 204 is the only bus that would take you to reach the lower station of Penang hill and after that, you need to ride the funicular train to reach your destination.


1.    LITTLE VILLAGE

 

The Little Village features a Love Arch and the green surrounding of Mother Nature.

     

2.    LOVE LOCK

 

Next attraction that have at Penang Hill is Love Lock. It is a perfect place where you can capture sweet and memorable picture with your best friend or your loved one.

PADANG KOTA

Next destination that we have visited is Padang Kota. The place is a popular open field in Penang where you can come for sightseeing. Padang Kota also is a great place for you to go with your family as you can relax or taking some photos by the sea. Basically when we there, we just taking some picture of each other, sightseeing and eating.

 

    

How to get to Padang Kota ?

You can take rapid bus 101 and 501 but if you don’t mind walking to Padang Kota since it is not far away if you arrive at the ferry station. The closest stations are Dewan Sri Pinang, Masjid Kapitan Keling, etc

MUSEUM PERANAKAN

 

After that, we are going to Museum Peranakan. Museum Peranakan is a museum dedicated to Penang’s Peranakan heritage. The museum itself is housed within a distinctive green-hued mansion at Church Street, George Town. The mansion has many different rooms, all decorated with luxury period furniture, as well as collections of rare antiques.  How to go to Museum Peranakan? 

You can take rapid bus 101,204,401 and 401E to reach the Museum Peranakan. If you want to be quick you can ride the e-hailing car. The closest stations to Peranakan Museum are Restoran Kapitan, Bank Negara Malaysia, etc.

PENANG INTERNATIONAL FOOD FESTIVAL  2019 ( PiFF )

The last place that we have visited is Penang International Food Festival. If you have never been to PiFF, you should visit this year. There are so many delicious foods that you can try. Penang International Food Festival is the annual event that is held in Penang since 2017. PiFF will gather all the great food in Penang.  How to get to Penang International Food Festival PIFF, Penang Little India , Georgetown ?

You can take rapid bus 401E, 101,301,302,401 .The closest stations are Container Hotel,Ferry terminal etc. 

When we visited PiFF 2019, we see Datuk (Dr) Chef Wan’s cooking demonstration. He made a cooking demonstration and choose one of the audience to taste it. It is fun to watch his cooking demonstration because he always makes fun while his cooking which make us the audience do not feel bored. He also does some interaction with the audience and asked the audience to taste some food that he cooked.
